Mobile platform for inspecting structures

This platform is a high-performance unit used to inspect bridges and other structures.  It is mounted on a truck and can thus access any part of a structure while causing only minimal interference with traffic.  Its flexible design means that it can easily overcome obstacles such as noise baffles and containment walls. It is designed to give access to both sides of bridge floors with a single manoeuvre.

Equipment

The platform features a range of equipment for meeting many different needs:

• Aluminium elevator and turret for access to both sides of the bridge floor.
• Large work platform.
• 220 V power outlets on the platform.
• Arch inspection device for bridges accessible only from above. The platform is adapted to the bridge underside and can approach virtually any point.
• Remote-control to simplify assembly and dismantling operations.  The system includes two mobile operation panels, one for the structure and the other for adjusting the platform and elevators.  Wireless control makes for greater mobility and visibility, particularly in hard-to-see areas.
• Bridge pillar inspection via a basket suspended from the platform.  The system is flexible enough to allow complete inspections of round, square and rectangular pillars.  The basket can carry two people and can be suspended at distances of up to 75 m.
• A 2 m high elevator frame enables even hard-to-access box girder bridge beams to be inspected.
• Flexible design adaptable to different types of bridge.
